How to Apply


William Henry Hirst Memorial Homes provides independent living for older people in a peaceful and well-managed environment.

If you are interested in becoming a resident, the information below outlines the eligibility criteria and application process.

Eligibility criteria


Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1

Be over 60 years of age and capable of living independently;

2

Not own their own property or have sold their own property within 6 months of being appointed as a beneficiary of the charity;

3

Be in receipt of Housing Benefit, or the housing element of Universal Credit, or Council Tax Support;

4

Have links to the Wollaton area.

About the trust and allocation of homes


Under the terms of the Almshouses Trust that owns Hirst Crescent, all matters connected with the management of the premises are under the direction of the current Trustees

The founding documentation states that the overall principle in this respect shall be the provision of facilities for elderly persons in reduced circumstances residing in Nottingham or the surrounding area

All applications are considered carefully by the Trustees, and properties are allocated at their discretion in accordance with the Trust’s governing principles.

Resident Contributions


Residents are required to pay a modest weekly maintenance contribution.
