About the Trust
William Henry Hirst Memorial Homes are a complex of 20 one-bedroom flats and bungalows located on Hirst Crescent in Wollaton, Nottingham, in the shadow of Wollaton Hall.
A quiet retirement community
Built around 1970, this private retirement housing complex provides independent living for seniors.
By his will dated 19 January 1944, William Henry Hirst left the residue of his estate for the acquisition of land and erection thereon of Almshouses. Subsequently, land was purchased at Hirst Crescent, Wollaton. Nottingham, where Almshouses have been built, in the form or flats bungalows.
A registered charity
The Trust is a registered charity, (number 220643), known as the Charity of William Henry Hirst, and is a registered social landlord with the Regulator of Social Housing (number A1328) under the name William Henry Hirst Memorial Homes.


Our purpose
The primary purpose of the Trust is to manage and maintain the properties and ensure that the residents of the Almshouses enjoy a good quality of life during their retirement.
The Almshouses are allocated to potential residents at the discretion of the trustees, as they see fit.
